Story of diamonds
“They can’t break you, you’re a diamond”
The diamond is more than just aesthetically beautiful—it’s an enduring symbol of love, romance, and commitment. The stone’s name is derived from the Greek word adamas, which translates to “unconquerable”. Diamonds are one of the rarest materials on earth and the hardest naturally occurring transparent crystalline substances found. The diamond is an allotrope of carbon and formed over 3 billion years ago in the Earth’s lithosphere under extreme pressure and temperature. It is usually brought to the Earth’s surface through volcanic activity. Diamond crystals were first found in southern India almost 4000 years ago. Mining in large scale began in 1860 and continental Africa became the largest source of diamonds in the world. It has taken billions of years to reach where we are today. The love, purity and uniqueness associated with diamonds, however, lasts forever.
